Energy and CO2 savings potential of industrial insulation in the Netherlands

The energy savings potential of industrial insulation is large and exists across all regions, sectors, equipment and operating temperatures. The total cost-effective savings potential amounts to about 31 PJ and 2.1 Mt CO2 per year, of which
- 24 PJ and 1.6 Mt CO2 per year in industry, and
- 7 PJ and 0.5 Mt CO2 per year in fossil fuel-fired power generation.
